| This song was written and recorded to help raise money for the New York Police and Fire Widows' & Children's Benefit Fund. All the profits from CD sales were donated to the NYPFWC. Although FPS is no longer accepting donations for "Carry On", we encourage you to use the above links as a resource for information about the NYPFWC. We hope this song will continue to inspire all Americans to show their patriotism by displaying an American flag on their home, if they haven't already done so. |

September 15, 2001 It was Wednesday morning, 24 hours after the attacks
had happened. I was waiting for my girlfriend to come
over, so I went to open the front door and watch for her.
When I looked outside I realized that my father had already
hung the American flag at half staff outside of our house. I
looked across the street and saw that our neighbors were putting
up flags as well. When I looked at those American flags,
in light of the hijackings, the attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, and the
plane crash in Pennsylvania, I felt a sense of
unity and that we are all in this together. I felt safe
because of the way Americans pull together during the most
trying times. I thought to myself that if our flag makes me
feel this way, it must do the same for others. That morning
I was inspired to write a song and share my feelings with
anyone who ever looked at our American flag and felt the way I
did. If you haven't already done so, I hope this song inspires
you to put a flag out in front of your home, on your car,
in your hat or anywhere the rest of the world can see it as a
sign of strength, unity, and a symbol of freedom. Proud American, Michael Kuchar |
